Julia Cichowitz, MSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Julia, LCSW is a trauma-informed therapist in Colorado who works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. She integrates EMDR therapy, CBT, DBT skills, and attachment-focused approaches to help clients process difficult experiences, develop emotional awareness, and build healthier ways of coping and connecting in their daily lives.
Julia believes that healing becomes possible when people have space to be understood. She approaches therapy as a collaborative process allowing safety, relationship, and honest connection, conditions that allow clients to explore the complexity of their lives without pressure to perform or simplify their experiences. Julia holds deep respect for the stories people carry and works from the belief that every client is the expert on their own life. Her role is to come alongside them with curiosity, steadiness, and the occasional moment of shared humor to make room for what feels difficult or new.
Julia practices through an integrative lens that combines person-centered and relational approaches. She incorporates evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), shaping each session around the needs and pace of the individual. She enjoys weaving expressive elements, such as art, creativity, or connection with nature, into the therapeutic process when helpful, offering clients additional ways to access insight or expression.
Julia’s clinical experience includes supporting survivors of interpersonal harm, partnering alongside a Child Advocacy Center, and working on defense teams within the criminal legal system. These varied settings have shaped her capacity to hold nuance and complexity. She works with children, adolescents, and adults navigating trauma, identity concerns, anxiety, depression, grief, experiences of injustice, and questions around spirituality or belief.
Across her work, Julia strives to create a therapeutic space where clients can move at a pace that feels right for them, make sense of what they’ve carried, and experience therapy as a restorative process rooted in understanding and connection.
