A Collective Committed to Walking With You Through Healing

Who We Are

  • Sunergos Counseling Collective began with a shared belief: people heal best in relationship.

Emily Doane and Devan Grayson met in 2016 during their graduate training at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida. In those early years, they discovered a shared desire to create a counseling practice that would be rooted in collaboration, depth, and dignity.

Seven years later, Sunergos was born.

We created this practice because we believe no one should have to navigate trauma, pain, or life’s hardest experiences alone. Our hope is to come alongside clients as they reconnect with their story, make meaning of their experiences, and move toward greater freedom and wholeness.

  • The word Sunergos comes from Greek and means “fellow worker” or “working together.”

This reflects how we view therapy—not as someone “fixing” another person, but as a collaborative process where healing unfolds through relationship, curiosity, and care.

We do not sit above your story. We sit beside it with you.

  • We believe healing is both deeply personal and deeply relational.

While symptoms like anxiety, depression, or emotional overwhelm are often what bring people into therapy, we also pay attention to the deeper layers underneath—life experiences, attachment wounds, trauma, relationships, and meaning-making.

    Our work is grounded in:

    • Trauma-informed care

    • Attachment theory

    • Neuroscience and evidence-based practices

    • Relational and narrative approaches

We believe healing is not just about reducing symptoms—it is about restoring connection: to yourself, to others, and to your own story.

  • Agency

We believe every person has inherent dignity and the capacity to find their voice, make meaning, and move toward growth. Therapy should strengthen—not replace—your sense of agency.

    Professional Integrity

We are committed to ethical, thoughtful, and high-quality clinical care. We also believe therapists do their own ongoing personal work so they can show up with humility and presence.

    Truth

We believe healing involves the courage to face the truth of our stories—with compassion rather than shame—so that greater freedom can emerge.

  • Our clinicians are trained in trauma-informed care and EMDR, and each brings their own unique experience, style, and clinical strengths.

We work with adults and adolescents navigating:

    • Trauma and PTSD

    • Anxiety and depression

    • Relationship and attachment challenges

    • Abuse recovery

    • Spiritual and religious wounds

    • Life transitions and identity exploration

  • Therapy at Sunergos is collaborative, paced, and tailored to each person’s needs.

We often begin by focusing on safety, stabilization, and understanding your current experience. Over time, we may move toward deeper processing and integration of past experiences when you feel ready.

You do not need to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. We meet you where you are.
