Clinical Supervision & Consultation with Devan Grayson for LPCCs and LPCs
Trauma-Informed Clinical Supervision for Emerging Therapists
Clinical supervision is more than a licensure requirement. It is an opportunity to develop confidence, strengthen clinical skills, deepen self-awareness, and grow into the therapist you aspire to become. As a clinical supervisor, I strive to create a supportive and collaborative environment where supervisees feel both challenged and encouraged. My goal is to help therapists build competence, confidence, and authenticity in their work while developing a strong clinical foundation rooted in ethical, evidence-based practice. Whether you are a pre-licensed clinician seeking supervision toward licensure or an emerging therapist looking to strengthen your trauma-informed practice, supervision can provide the guidance and support necessary for meaningful professional growth.
My Approach to Supervision
I view supervision as a collaborative relationship that balances skill development, clinical insight, and professional identity formation. My supervision style is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in curiosity and creativity. I encourage supervisees to explore both the clinical and personal aspects of therapeutic work while developing confidence in their own voice and approach as clinicians.
Supervision may include:
Case conceptualization, treatment planning, trauma-informed clinical practice, ethical and legal considerations, clinical documentation, therapist self-awareness, countertransference and use of self, professional identity development, and burnout prevention and sustainability.
I believe that effective supervision supports not only the therapist's clinical growth but also their overall well-being and longevity in the profession.
Areas of Clinical Expertise
My clinical work focuses heavily on trauma and abuse recovery using evidence-based treatment approaches.
Areas of specialization include:
Trauma and PTSD, childhood trauma, spiritual abuse, religious trauma, sexual abuse, physical abuse, verbal abuse, emotional abuse, familial estrangement, complex trauma, attachment and relationship concerns, emotional regulation, grief, chronic illness, and EMDR-informed treatment.
Who I Work With
I provide supervision and consultation for:
Mental health counselors, therapists pursuing licensure, early-career clinicians, and therapists seeking trauma-informed clinical development.
Whether you are beginning your clinical career or looking to deepen your understanding of trauma-focused work, supervision can provide a valuable space for growth and reflection.
What You Can Expect
My goal is to create a supervision experience that is both supportive and practical.
Supervisees can expect:
Honest and constructive feedback, collaborative problem-solving, thoughtful case consultation, ethical guidance, trauma-informed clinical perspectives, and professional encouragement and support.
I believe therapists do their best work when they feel supported, challenged, and connected to a larger professional community.
